Went to start my girl today and the solenoid started SMOKING!!! This is NOT funny!! A real nasty squeaking noise came out of it like a mouse was being strangled.
You sure you weren't choking your chicken? Wait...that's a different noise. It sounds like one one of your starter bearings froze and started to back things up. It might be ok to just replace the bearing, hopefully the solenoid and the starter didn't get fried too bad.
