Martin,
I would like a drawing if you have time, I'd be much obliged. As a note,
the relay I have is a Marelli relay. The contacts on it look like so:

|-------------------------------------|
| A |
| | |
| | __ |
| | C D |
| B |
| |
|_Bobs Marelli Relay __________|

I have jumped A and C by soldering a short wire to each contact. B is the
ground. D goes to the hot side of the Fiamm horn. The horn is grounded
just by attaching the horn stalk to the frame of the bike. The hot side
of
the horn wires from the bike itself attache to A. (I did this set up per
instructions from Sport Cycles.) Perhaps I got the contacts screwed up
but
I did check combinations with test leads before arriving at a set up that
actually made the horns sound with the tinder box horn switch. Your
assistance is appreciated. Best, Bob

Relay should not click until activated by horn button.

Sounds like you've wired the relay coil to the ignition & then wired the
horn straight through the switched contacts.

Relay should be wired as follows:

Wire from switched live (ie. wire that becomes live when ignition is
turned
on) to one side of relay coil and one of the switched contacts
(technically
the non moving side of the switch but not too important).

Other side of relay coil goes to horn button. other contact on button
goes

 to earth.

Other side of relay switched contact goes to horn. Other terminal on
horn

 goes to earth.

When horn button is pressed relay energises & shuts contacts sending
live

 feed to horn.

You must use a "normally open" relay.

If you like I'll do a drawing & send it to you.

Tom,
Nice pics on the relay placement, but I have a question for you.
I am installing a pair of Fiamm horns on my Ambo as the stock unit is
too

weak. I have aquired a Marelli relay to put in line between the
switch

 and
the horns. It does work as I hooked it all up before screwing
anything

 onto
the bike. One thing I noticed though is that when I turn on the
ignition

key, remember Ambos do not have start buttons, the relay makes a
"click"

sound like it is activated or something. Is this normal? I would
think
 it

would make a click when I hit the horn button but why does it click
when
 I

turn on the bike? If this is normal that's OK with me just want your
opinion. Thanks for your time. Bob Hawkes
