Rich,

Have you checked to see if it might be your seal on the Input shaft of the
transmission? I thought my rear main was also leaking at one point, but when
I removed the tranny I found the problem was the input shaft seal was
leaking. Food for thought.

Pete, I have never seen a breather hole in the bottom of the clutch
housing but then again have never paid much attention as I have never
noticed oil drips from there. Of course my clutch pushrod seal leaks and I
know about that as it 'marks' it's spot in the garage. A 'dry' clutch should
not have any excess fluids to drain off. It wasn't a case of a lot of oil in
the clutch area that I was mentioning but more of a misting of oil that you
could see from the hole where the starter mounts and fell if you stuck your
finger in and around there.
TIA
Rich

HI Rich
Help me out with this. I never had the engine or trans apart yet.
The breather hole at the bottom of the clutch housing, shouldn't that drain
any excess fluid??
I have a little bit of fluid that weeps out of there almost every
ride. Once I overfilled the trans fluid and it really dripped out of the
breather hole for while.
Thanks
Pete
