Nothing to add to this discussion, as it is way beyond my knowledge,
but thanks to all who have added input as it has been one of the better
discussions to come along in a while. It just adds to my interest in
aquiring a long term project 'hot rod' loop. Better go hit e-bay ;-)

Joe,

The Eldo distributor will fit. You have to look at the housing that
the distributor fits into. There is a difference between the V700 and Eldo
distributor housing as I found out, the V700/750 has a smaller housing
flange that fits into the case, therefore you will have to find an Eldo one
that has the bigger flange. If you want I can take a picture of both for you
to see the difference. The dual point will make contact against the
generator as it is much bigger than the Eldo kind. As for the tach drive, I
believe I read somewhere that you would have to remove the drive gear on the
cam or I think you could replace the cam with one from an Eldo, much better
than ruining a good cam.
