I don't know John and to those that do, I'm very sorry to hear that his
condition so drastic. I'm sure he is a very decent guy and I hope the
doctors are wrong in their prognosis.

My thoughts are with the friends and family.

Hello everyone,

I spoke with Jim King, a mutual friend of the Loyd family and myself who was
with John and his entire family at the hospital all morning.

John crashed Saturday on Hwy 266, traveling west from 95 to 395 in route to
the National Rally. Somehow, he lost control, left the road and hit a dirt
berm that flipped the bike (as in cartwheeling) over and over again. The
police maintain that no other vehicle was involved, but Jim is investigating
this...as we speak.

I was told the damage is to the T3-4 portion of his spine, which is
classified as a broken back. The prognosis from the medical personal
treating him is permanent paralysis from the waist down, with no control
over bladder or bowel. He is however, awake (to a certain extent) but cannot
speak. Jim said: "I've never saw so many tubes and wires hooked up to
somebody in my life".

That is what I have so far. I'm still unclear exactly where John is...I
asked Jim twice and it sounded like the "UMC Trauma Center" (his cell phone
was hard for me to hear) but did say it was on, or near Charleston Street in
Las Vegas.
