 No brand antagonism whatsoever ,just my own experience. I have always said
BMW made my favorite cars . The old 1600 and 1800 sedans were well made and
about the easiest cars to maintain and service. They were also a joy to
drive. I would have fixed the r-90 but I never really enjoyed riding it
anyhow so I passed it on to a friend. At the time there were a lot of
interesting ,fun bikes available and I was ready to enjoy riding again :)

That's what I was diggin at. The Beemer wasn't your style, so you sold it
off. No problems there. I have a /5 that has faithfully served me for over a
decade. only got really stranded once. Rocker arm snapped. ANd it was my own
fault, I re-used some bits I shouldn't have.

Both my Guzzis are the same way. Dead nuts simple reliable old machines.

Now if I could just find someone who would trade my '99 VTR for an '01 V11
Lemans.....
