I owned a 1974 sportster.....................I won't even put into words the
peculiar brands of hell that tinkertoy grimace from land of Packers caused
me. Maybe the Guzzi thing is mass-hysteria? Perhaps we've become overcome
with the hypnotic syncopation of 700-850cc of the most sensible yet alluring
engine design to ever be mounted on a 2 wheeler. It is nearly a primal
experience being pulled down some highway on a perfectly tuned
example,especially if you have been in and thru the guts yourself. They
invite those that suffer a passion for machinery and have a true feel of the
meaning of substance. Coupled with a timeless classic design, materials and
construction elements that are superior and enduring unlike the ephemeral
bulk of disposable goods that are thrust your way everyday. A Guzzi is like
good jazz.......if you need an explanation.......it aint for you.
