Doesn't look bad in the least.It is actually exactly what the factory
did later on and the factory part is available ,the nipple works the
same and cost is lower.

Years ago I had an Eldo. It leaked badly out the hole in the shift
detent
plug on the left side. I drille the hole slightly larger to 1/8" and
inserted a small tube and soldered in place. Then attached a fish tank
air
hose and ran it up into the battery compartment in an inverted U. You
could
see oil in the tubing, but it never went more than a couple inches high.
