first thing- pull the plug wire on that side. hammering noise stop/
diminish? ya got a bad rod bearing there.

I am tryung to help a friend with his 1981 G5. Not being experienced in
this brand perhaps you can help me (us). When the engine is revved up
while running the bike a verty loud hammering noise is heard
predominantly fom the right rocker box. I adjusted the valved and that
seemed to have made a small diffrence but nearly imperceptible.

Do you have nay idea what this is? Are these motors normally noisy? I
have a buell and that 4 piece cam set produces a cacophony of sounds.
