Ron,

I have two Ambos but have only ridden an Eldo up and down the street once. I
can't really talk about the power differences but what I liked about the
Eldo was the extra gear. I think that would help if you were running a
heavier load.

That being said......I think the Ambo is powerful enough for your 215 lb
frame. I remember hearing Frank Wedge telling me that he used to load him,
his wife, his daughter and a bunch of stuff on his V700 and head off on
trips. I remember seeing a pic of the crew loaded on the bike.....quite a
sight.

As for the Ambo....I can attest that a properly tuned Ambo will cruise along
the highway at 80 just fine......so long as you don't mind the tranny whine.
I kind of like it though :-)

I'm sure the bike would haul you around just fine and as Kev said.....don't
pass up a good deal on an Ambo....they are much prettier than an Eldo....in
my opinion :-)

Regards....Ian

Ron,
I'd have to say that most of the differance would be in the top end. They're
stroked, not bored to get the 850cc. If I remember my schoolin' correctly,
stroking an engine gives more power on the highway, boring gives it more
low end.
I can't say that theres a BIG differance, some sure, but nothing to pass a
good deal on a Ambo
