Hi everyone,
Last year at the Adirondak rally I took several pictures of loopframes.
I made duplicates to send to the bike owners and and will bring them to
the rally this year (I lost my addresses to send them - I am really
sorry about that).
Re the power difference discussion - I am not as knowledgeable as most
of you, but I do know my Eldorado has cruised at 100mph (at least that
what the speedo said - I know there is a debate on that accuracy -
tested with a Jackal and we had a difference between 5 and 2 miles per
hour). On a recent trip, I kept up no problem with the Jackal - just
kept my distance because of my brakes.
The fifth gear makes a lot of difference on trips and I really love
driving my bike. I also noticed that my bike does not loose power going
up hills (I have driven with other eldos that do) but that I believe is
due to the compression. So in the comparing an Eldo with an Ambassador,
I would not trade mine, even for one so beautifully restored as Ian's.
Also want to say I really appreciate following the discussions on this
list! I'm now leaving for Qu�bec with the Edorado.
