Got around to re-torquing the heads on the Eldo over the weekend and
had a look at the points. Yikes, only an infinitesimally small gap!
Quick nurse, hand me my feeler gauge! After setting the gap back to
normal, I got around to setting the timing. Dave R's Guzziology sez to
time the bike at full advance (the 'E' or right hand most mark; 4500
rpm) mark. But he also sez that the 'E' mark was mis-stamped on the
pulley by the factory and should be 2 degrees (or 2 mm) further to the right.

I went ahead and timed to the 3 third from the left mark (2200 rpm) and
then checked to see the timing at 4500 rpm. My timing was further than
2 mm to the right of the 'E' mark so I went ahead and retimed to the 'E'
mark, disregarding the 2200 rpm mark.

Should I be worried that I can't get both marks to agree, the 2200 and
4500 rpm with the same setting? Or is my point gap off? Sure didn't
seem that way when I set it.

I have to rotate my distributor almost all the way clockwise to get the
timing correct; there isn't much more room to turn. Is this right?
