I had to buy some rubber material (I think it was Buna for resistance
to gasoline) and made my
own gaskets. The previous owner may have used octane booster that had
alcohol because the seals
were like tar. The fuel valves work great now. I sharpened the end of
some tubing to make my own punches for making the gaskets. Also, The
Ambo that I am rebuilding currently is missing the fuel valves I need a
set if ya know where I can get them. I am willing to rebuild a set of
fuel valves
to trade for a set or I'll pay.

I just swapped the tanks on Norine, and used new fuel valves, because I
wanted nice shinny ones, they leaked like crazy, there was no position I

could put the levers that would shut off the fuel flow completely, I
went
through 2 sets of new ones and they all leaked, so I went to the parts
bin
and went through a pile of used ones and finally got a pair that didn't
leak
and looked decent. What a pain! Anyone had these issues with the new
ones? I
know we talked about new gaskets for fuel valves on the list before,
anyone
successfully fix thier's? Also my nice shinny gas cap didn't seal, I
fixed
that with a cork gasket. But Norine is ready to run now with a shinny
tank.
