Dave, Are you using the cork gasket from a VW Beetle oil
filler cap as suggested by Mark (MG Classics)?

I just cut some from a hunk of cork gasket material, have yet to try it but
will tomarrow as I get off work and get to ride tomarrow!!!!!!!! (I'm happy
about that)

My cap is leaking when full
so I avoid filling it completely but need to take care of it. I fixed my
leaking taps (one completely, the other only leaks while turning it on) by
disassembling and (carefully) flipping the gasket over. I also got a set of
gaskets made by Bruce Giller that I have yet to try (Yea, I know Bruce I
have had them how long?). I also purchased 2 steel replacement taps from
Wesson's in the UK for about $40 for the pair shipped that I am keeping in
reserve just in case. They look just like the aluminum ones but are steel.
I have tried them and they both work fine so I pulled them sprayed the with
preservative and tucked them away.
Rich

Anyone had these issues with the new ones? I
know we talked about new gaskets for fuel valves on the list before,
anyone
successfully fix thier's? Also my nice shinny gas cap didn't seal, I
fixed
that with a cork gasket.
