Dave,
I tried to use cork when my caps were leaking.......cork got soaked with
gas and leaked.
I ended up pulling the caps on both my bikes and tearing them apart.
Replaced the old rubber gasket with a type that was fuel resistant and put
the cap back together. No problems since.

I just cut some from a hunk of cork gasket material, have yet to try it but
will tomarrow as I get off work and get to ride tomarrow!!!!!!!! (I'm happy
about that)
