Hey Rich,
I use my alltime favorite... Gask-a-chinch. I think the automotive industry
stole it from area 51 way back when. I even have the chick tattooed, cute
blonde pinup.
As for torque specs, Tighten it till it snaps and back it off 1/2 turn, or I
seem to remember I torqued the eldo to 10 - 15 ftlbs.
Oh Yeh, Another excellent gasket goop is hylomar. Awesome blue crap that
wont come off your fingers without a little work. hylomar never actually
dies up, so it makes for easier cleaning when you go back in.
Kev

I changed my front cover (timing) gasket about 200 miles ago. I
cleaned everything, checked for flaws in the mating surfaces and torqued the
bolts in a criss cross pattern just the way it should be. The cover is now
leaking again and it is driving me nuts. Does anyone do anything with the
gaskets like coating them with sealant, grease or anything that they swear
by? And what torque spec do those bolts get? I may have under done it in
fear of stripping the main case but I don't think so. Any help or
suggestions?
Thanks,
Rich
