Elisabeth,
At our monthly all-you-can-eat Moto Guzzi spaghetti dinner at Chiodo's
tonight, several of us Western PA guzzi riders were talking about exactly
that. A possible ride to the AMA museum from the Rally. We were told that
their special display this month is Superbikes from the 1980's. So, there
may be a move afoot once the gathering occurs at the Rally to organize a
ride down there.

Hi John,

Hope I don't disapoint you too much, but I really can't ride my loop: My
brakes need serious attention. Last week riding, tried making an emergency
stop and couldn't - managed to swerve - this is one reason I'm not
comfortable riding in groups. Problem is, I get on my bike and I become
this delusional middle age women who thinks she is a teenager again and is
unbreakable. So I have to fix the brakes before I break my bike.

A couple of weeks ago we tried fixing the problem: took the front wheel
off, I sanded the brake pads (still very thick) and reajusted the cables.
Results were marginal and have gotten worse. I have received good advice
on how to fix the problem from other loopers and will fix them. Also have
to fix the forks. So here is the confession: I will not be riding my
loop, but will be on a modern red Triumph Tiger. Hope you still will want
to talk to me and I really look forward to seeing you and your wife at the
rally!

I was thinking of riding down to the Motorcyle Museum near Columbus - has
anyone ever been there?

Well, so far it looks like me, Elisabeth, Dennis and maybe Gary (come
on, Gary, it's supposed to be a great weekend weatherwise). We can have
a 'loop group'. I suggest that at the various meets that we establish a
call, something like "Loop Loop Loop Loop!" so we can find one another.
Could also be a distress call, like if we fall down out of reach of the
beer cooler or something.
Of particular note to Elisabeth, my wife Suzanne will be riding the
Ambo down, so there will be two women on loops, could be dangerous. My
'73 Laverda SF1 is a bit too tall for her. We should be a 2-Goose family
next year when I get the '69 Ambo done.
For those of you who know her, Joan Arnold (Jack's wife, Ohio MGNOC
reps, they sponsor the Shreve meet) has been in the hospital for some
leg surgery. She was complaining about the hospital food until one of
the nurses pointed out that when she gets home she'll have to eat Jack's
cooking. She's home now, we're hoping that she'll be at the meet.
For those of you that don't know, Whispering Hills campground is a
HUGE campground, with a pavilion, swimming pool, tractor rides around
the place and a small zoo with a variety of animals. It's in the middle
of Amish country, with great scenic views and wonderful riding roads.
