Andy,
more miles may be just the ticket. I am told that the Nikasil cylinders are
much harder than the chrome and take longer to "seat" or wear in. When you
ride it around why don't you come up to my house. We could ram around in
the city and cause general trouble while you break in your cylinders! Bob

Andy,
Holy smokes! Wait a second. Did you get a Nikasil kit or just the
cylinders? I remember that Nikasil were set up not to hone. I was told
pistons should be matched to cylinders. Also, tell me to shut up if you
know this but I assembled my Nik kit with assembly lube, no other
lubricants. Just my opinion here. Bob Hawkes

hi dave-
after getting kermit outfitted with the new engine/trans., i went out for
a
ride today- real nice, but the torque just wasn't there [STILL!] so i came
back home and grabbed the compression guage. crap!!! 120lbs., left cyl.,
150
 rt.cyl........
question- i lubed the cyl. walls with a liberal dose of stp engine oil
treatment before sliding them over the pistons. is it possible that this
sticky stuff has prevented the rings from sealing? i was gonna assemble
them
dry [figuring the nikisil is hard stuff & could take it] but d. richardson
reccommended against it. i did lap the valves, so this is the only thing i
can think of. if so, i guess i gotta tear it down again @#$!!%&(%!! and
hone
 [?] the cyls.???
any advice is needed& wanted, with thanks!!!!!
andy
