I had a similar problem and fixed it by cutting the head off the allen
screw, using black shrink tubing to cover the threads, and finally gluing
on a thread end cover purchased at home depot for $.10. Actually looks
very nice, and clean. Most people think it came like that. Maybe a last
resort, but works!
