Scott,
Same thing happened to me just after I got my Eldo. No one would sell
me just the threaded handle - just the whole petcock. So I found a long
5 mm SS bolt with the same pitch as the original (measured from the
remaining handle). The bolt had a long shank with no threads on it and
I was able to cut out a new handle from that section including a small
section of threads. Rounded the end a bit to make it look more
original, a quick polish job, put some LocTite on the threads, and have
been using it ever since. Hard to tell from the original chrome unit -
unless you have them side by side.

I think that I still have couple left and I could send you one if you'd like.

re: petcock gaskets. Has anyone (namely you, Rich) used those gaskets
I sent you? Anything to report?

Got back from a nice ride, reached down to turn off the main fuel
petcock and was surprised to find that the nice little threaded pin on
the petcock had jumped ship.Does anyone on the list have an old
petcock they would be willing to take apart and send me the pin?I
currently have a 5mm allen screw in its place so that i can turn off
the fuel.BTW,I have a pair of painted front crashbars that need to get
rid of.Thanks, Scott K
