Got a plate for the Eldo this week. I just need to hook up my JB Weld
brake light switch and it will be ready for inspection. Right now I am
doing alll the little things I postponed because I had much bigger
things to do:

As much as Mark dislikes self promotion I am going to ask him a question
in the hopes he will post the answer to the list: Do the Mac mufflers
bolt right up? Is there any modification to the centerstand necessary?
I got a pair of slashcuts third hand and they are not a boltup
proposition. The centerstand hits on both sides. They actually look to
be a good fit for my Jackal!

Today I lubed brake and clutch cables on the bike and then lubed the
spares and stuffed them in the right toolbox (I keep tools in the other
one) I removed the rear wheel and cleaned, lubed and adjusted the rear
brake.

I siphoned two pints of gas out of the Jackal and put it in the Eldo and
turned on both taps. Approximately one pint of gas immediately exited
through the left air filter via a stuck float valve. I turned off the
taps and removed the float bowls on both sides fixed the problem,
cleaned and replaced the idle jets and put it all back together.

I had to cut down a pair of 10mm bolts to mount the passenger grab
handles. Once the bolts were the right size I used a 2 1/2Lb. hammer to
get the reproduction parts to go on.

My hydraulic front brake has been acting spooky. If I let it sit for a
while it seems soft and has a lot of lever travel. With use it pumps up
and has a lot less travel. What is the deal? So far I am on target to
make the rally. I hope to put a couple of hundred miles on the bike
this week to see if all systems are go. If I can't get it together I
guess I will have to travel by Jackal.

If D. Otis is reading, I would love to have that shifter shaft for the
ride down. Any hope?
