Rich,
Thanks for the info. I guess you figured out that I am getting frustrated
with polishing out mine. I can't ever seem to get the same results by hand
that a buffing wheel can get and I can't pay $100.00 every time I want a
professional shine.
May send them off after this riding season.
See Ya:

My '71 Ambo I bought from it's second owner. It has chrome valve and
generator belt covers (both are in just ok shape) that he claims the
original owner told him he bought the bike from the dealer that way. But
the
original owner had also bought the bike new from the dealer with matching
Wixom Ranger bags and top case, a Windjammer II fairing and Fiam air horns
that I have taken off. So I don't know, maybe a US dealer option (or this
dealer specific option)
Hey! You don't have to polish them!
Rich

I have met several loopframe riders in the last several months that
had
chrome-plated valve covers. One eldo and one ambo. Two of the riders
claimed
that these bikes "came that way" from the factory. My question is to
verify
if Guzzi ever manufactured loopframe bikes with chrome-plated valve
covers?
I know that they did polish the aluminum covers on ambos but I never
knew if
they actually did chrome plate them. Can anyone verify this?
Thanks:
