Easily done my man. You can get buffs and compounds at sears, harbor
freight
and eastwood co.

the front cover is easy. the valve covers are a bitch. lots of nooks. Youl
want a dremel and buffing wheels for the crevices. practice on something
you
don't care about. a 3000 rpm buffer can throw a part far and hard. glasses
and clves are a must. watch for the heat. the spot you buff heats up fast
so
keep the part moving. nothig quite like the heart pouding excitement of
burnt fingers, letting go of a part and then digging that part out of a
wall.

I have a cheap bench grinder but I don't know where to get the buffing
compound and buffing wheels to fit. Do I need to do a hard buff followed
by
a color buff or is it just a one step procedure? I buffed brass on musical
instruments about 15+ years ago but I lost contact with the suppliers of
all
those materials. I really just need info on where to get the right
materials.

A cheap bench grinder, some wheels and compound go a long way to get
and keep things well polished if you're so inclined. I have all of the
engine covers on my Ducati Pantah motored Alazzurra buffed to what some
have
mentioned look 'show' quality with just that setup. It's not that hard,
just
takes time and I probably only have about $100 in my setup including
materials.

Rich,
Thanks for the info. I guess you figured out that I am getting
frustrated
with polishing out mine. I can't ever seem to get the same results
by hand
that a buffing wheel can get and I can't pay $100.00 every time I
want a
professional shine.
May send them off after this riding season.
See Ya:
