I agree with Professor Field and try not to make irreversable
modifications. For those who want to mount turn signals I saw a nice
piece in the Chaparral catalog: A chrome rear turn signal bracket that
bolts behind the license plate. It is a simple thing that costs all of
seven bucks. You bolt up your signals and you are done. No drilling as
with the much more expensive semi-unobtainable stock piece.
