I have a book called Moto Guzzi Big Twins and on page 51, it has a photo of
an Eldo police bike with a 16" rear wheel. According to the side bar on
the photo the CHP Eldo's had 16" rear rims as a spec. The rim looks like a
harley style. I guess the CHP had some equipment calibrated to a 16 inch
rear rim or they put that in their spec to favor HD in contract bids. I
know allot of police forces in the 40's put in their spec that the bikes
had to have a left hand throttle, if they wanted Indian to win the police
contract. Anyway if anyone wants a copy of the photo, let me know and I
can scan it and email it to you.
