I enjoyed the Sarcasm as much as the next guy. And I do report that
at my daughter's soccer games I see far too many black motor company
T-shirts worn by folks that you can just tell have never thrown a leg over a
bike in their life. Or you just have to look at Ebay to find hundreds of
fairly new low mileage iron with tens of thousands of dollars invested in
them. The other side of that coin is that there still are folks riding them
and not playing the silly poser game. I spent a couple of years in the late
70s on a '63 panhead that I put at least 30k miles on, enjoying it the whole
time. My brother bought a new FLHS in '88 that he still owns and rides with
close to 100k miles on it now. He has never had it strand him or had any
even minor mechanical problems with the bike the whole time he has owned it.

This would go far, I see many many of them in the back of pickups or
on
trailers anyway, this way they could buy a pair of them and have
them in the
back of their pickup all the time!
