Heya Ian,

I guess this list has faded off. I have unsubscribed and resubscribed a few times, thinking something is wrong with my email or the list.
My Ambo has the same problem yours does. My driveway is about a half mile long, and all rough gravel, so it bottoms out sometimes. I just figured the forks were well worn and maybe not enough fluid in them. (I have yet to check it!).
My Eldo project is coming along fine, with the 'Vert 1000cc motor. The installation was a piece of cake, only using the grinder twice. Once for the generator (distributor clearance) and once for the Eldo timing cover, to make it fit over the timing chain. The Distributor is a little tight, trying to get it timed just right. I didnt even bother lining up the marks on the flywheel. I had to cut the crossover, on the Vert pipes to get it to fit, and just welded a cover on each hole to close it off. Other than that, everything else bolted right up and there were no clearance problems. I still have some minor adjustments to make, but should be on the road before the snow flies. This ones going to be a rider!

It's been quiet eh?

Here's something. I rolled the 69 Ambo out and rode her around the block. I
noticed that the front end appears to be loose. Kind of weird. I don't think
it is in the steering head bearings....almost feels like the top end is
loose. It bangs when the springs hit the tops of the tubes.

Any ideas out there? This explains the high speed wobble I was getting on my
way back from Maryland. I thought it was the crosswind I was getting since I
didn't notice anything on the rest of the trip but I suspect that there is
something else. Front end will do it for sure.

Regards...Ian
