Ian,

Heck, I can "simulate" chrome with a can of aluminum spray paint. The
question is can I get it to look good enough that the average enthusiast
doesn't have the sudden urge to laugh or retch when he sees it! Yes,
there have been aftermarket stainless panels made for some bikes that
were molded to fit the tank. Yes they can look OK, if applied properly.
Will they ever replace a nice chrome job? Not a chance.
