Hi Tom, Chris and Ian,

I am considering having the flywheel mass reduced more for overall weight
savings than for performance gains. I'm trying to get this thing as light as
possible so it will be manageable for me (5'6", 140 lbs.) in the environment
where it will be used. I wasn't planning to have it made as light as a
Daytona or something like that, just a couple of pounds off. Even if it was
pared down to 14 lbs. (which Guzziology says a T3 flywheel/ring gear combo
weighs) it would help me reach my goal without stressing driveline
components too much. Perhaps I should just use a T3 flywheel! Anywho, it's
just a thought at this time - I'll be using the stock Ambo frame - you can't
build too light of a bike with a piece that heavy to start! :-) Cheers,

Charlie

Charlie,

I agree with Tom and Chris. Perfection should not be messed with.

Look...if you want a racing machine......I'll buy a lotto ticket and when
I
win you can pick whatever one you want :-)

Regards....Ian

I agree with what Tom said, and have this to add...if you're going
racing,

do it, but if you want to have a streetable ride, don't do it. The mass
of

that flywheel is also what lets the bike ride smoothly at lower engine
speeds. If you want a smooth, quick-revving bike, get the engine
balanced

and blueprinted. IMHO that is the best thing (besides headwork) that can
be
done to a motor to make it more fun AND long lasting. Balance the
flywheel

 too.
My $.02. Hope this helps.
