been there, done that, took pictures, had fun .... now back to a stock eldo
motor and loving it. I had dual pluged heads, a t distributer and a Dyna
ignition in my eldo - along with high compression forged pistons in a 950 cc
set of iron sleaved barrels. it pinged like hell, even with the best octane
booster and premium. it had balls though, real balls. It ran real hot though,
so much so that it eventualy droped a valve seat and lunched the motor( ten
feet from the front door of a Norton shop that I drove it to to buy parts for
a 750 commando I was restoring) I was cool to have the dual leads, and was
cool to have the BIG torque, but was a pain in the ass other than that, piston
slap, pinging, hot valve covers.... forget it - I like my stock eldo motor
better, no worries , no pinging and I can warm my hands on the valve covers
without leaving singed flesh.
