Funny you mention Police Guzzi's and
early 70's. I have been reviewing Greg
Field's book "Moto Guzzi Big Twins"
from page 30-49 the past few hours and
don't recall any Chicago Police or Illinois
Highway Patrol purchasing Police Ambos/Eldos.
I know they sold a ton of them (more than
they could produce in 72, I believe), but
most were in California, New York and
Georgia.
I find it unusual a cartoonist from Woodstock,
Ill. would take the time to detail a Ambo into
his comic strip. There's gotta be a reason.
