I live in Asheville, NC about 4 miles from the Parkway. There are many great
sections of the parkway, I would suggest doing the whole thing if you have
the time, I think three days at a modest pace would do it. If you don't have
the time, the section from Cherokee to Balsam Gap is one of my favorites as
is the section going around Grandfather Mountain. I will be out of town some
in June but if I'm not gone during your trip I'm sure I could use an excuse
to go for a ride & show you around. If nothing else call & I can point out
some roads.
