That makes two of us, however:
There are three wires that go into the tach: Power, signal and ground.
There should be a little (+) for the power-in which I believe is a
blue/black wire, signal is a black wire and connects to the points. The
ground is, um, another black wire. Check with a multimeter for
continuity to the points on the signal wire, continuity to ground on the
ground wire and 12 Volts with the bike turned on for the power. The
bikes came with little round stickers on the back of the tach to aid
connection. Sometimes they are still there!
