Being a BMW/ Guzzi/ Ducati shop spline lube is something we do all the
time. I can tell you two things that have worked well over the years.
BMW part #95009000190 BMW lubricant #10, BEL-RAY assembly lube with
molylube. What ever you do don't gob it on ! I use a toothbrush to get
it down into the splines. A nice thin coat is all you need. IF you put
more on it will sling off and onto the plates.
