Hey out there,
Got a little lesson in clutch management this morning. I'm rebuilding a
'74 LAPD. While going over the tranny I noticed a "repair" to the the
tranny cover where the clutch pivot arm connects. It had cracked where
the pivot pin goes thru. A small plate had been bolted to the broken
side of the pivot. It was drilled to accept the pin. This apparently is
what happens when the clutch is adjusted at the hand lever instead of at
the tranny. The lever eventually winds up slamming up against the tranny
housing until something fails.(ie, clutch cable, lever, pivot) Anyway,
I'm looking for a end housing for my tranny. Anyone with a spare I can
purchase? Or should I be looking for the whole magilla(tranny)?
