Hi Dave,
If you have access to a metal lathe, chuck them up in it lightly and using fine
emery cloth polish them out. Use a little motor oil on the emery cloth and move
back and forth across the lifter face. Remove and clean them once in a while to
check your progress and to make sure the face is still flat. If yours aren't
too deeply pitted this will work fine. Cheers,

Charlie

Does anyone have 2 extra lifters for an 850 that they would like to
sell/trade/give away?? While assembling my motor I noticed two of mine are
a little pitted, not sure how smooth the surface should be but I would just
as soon replace now instead of later. The cam lobes look good, anyone seen
this before? Not sure what would cause this. Contact me off list if you
can help out.

Thanks,
