The most problems I have found with CEV and Lucas is bad contacts and
connections. I had the fuse panel in the headlight melt on my wife's Ambo
because of a bad connection the wire made in the socket. As far as the
switches go, I wired in relays for the spot lights and running lights on my
74 LAPD. I have not had any problems since.

RE CEV/Lucas. You Bet ! and a little judicous use of copper or nickel
antisieze will fix that as well. BTW I agree with the Lucas part too !
Lucas Electronic ignitions of the late 70s (Automotive) were probably as
bad as the Kawasaki CDIs of that vintage,but the rest is better than the
vicious rumors would have most believe.
