it is also easily possible to snap off the part of the bearing carrier
casting the mounting holes are drilled in even when using a tool that
approximates the factory item. i know, i've done it.

| the puller. I had to use a wrench to gently work them through the goo. I went about half a turn too far. I'll be god damned if the carrier didn't move. I took it about a turn or two out, backed off the bolts, slipped a quarter behind each hole and used the bolts to bring the carrier the rest |
