Three easy connections. One to 12 volt positive another to the breaker
points and don't forget the ground. Let me know if you can't determine
which goes where!

I would think (but havent tried) you could do the test with a timing
light set up. Most plug into the pistol handle. And if you can figure
out how they hook up you might be able to makde some aligator clip
jumpers cables to fire the tach?

Not an expert just thinking out loud here.
