Hey Dennis,

Growls it does, K&N's, rejetted carbs, Valtek mufflers, sounds great and
has nice pull too.

I thought about trying an 80/90 weight gear oil, but at 1st heard it
doesn;t make a difference in these loopframe forks as they are not
valved, that the oil is just there for lube purposes. Most of the folks
I heard from, including the restorers, said to use auto trans oil so I
went with it. Think someone else said they tried 50 weight motor oil
and it seemed to smooth things out. Confused. Guess I will just try
the 80/90 wt gear oil and see what happens?

 Keith,

Finally got the Ambo back in the garage. My mechanic friend has her
running like a top! She runs awesome and absolutely growls!

Growls?? We're talkin' an Ambo, right? Whatcha feedin' that thing,
Keith?
:-)
Just kidding. Glad to see it is running well.

I had stopped over the other day to refill the forks, but he
had already done so, and used auto trans fluid. I was going to use 90wt
gear oil after getting some feedback the other day, but it was too late.
My question is, how soft are these suspensions? She seemed really
bouncy, sort of pogo stick like. The front never bottomed out or
anything, just was real bouncy.

If you are unhappy with the front end, I would suggest that you drain
the
forks, and replace the fluid with something with more viscosity. Easy
enough to do.
