I've found with my '72 Eldo, that I have to remove a carb from the
cylinder head to get my K&Ns on. If the venturis are missing, you can
slip them on with mucking with the carbs. The the venturis are too long
to get this done with both on the bike. Just remove the 3 Allen bolts
from one carb and hang the carb by a string from the handlebar while you
slip them on.

them around and messing them up a bit. I got the filters that are
recommended for this bike. Any ideas?
Try WD-40. Slip them on, then when the WD40 dries it'll help seal them
up. Same idea works good for grips too. Try to also use a little screw
type motion when putting them on.
