My Eldo had Venolia pistons as part as a big bore kit installed by the previous owner. Does you motor have the stock bore ?

oh, rodger that. a rag, huh? wow! guess he figured the screen wasn't good
enough. ya better run a wire thru your rockershafts, etc. to clean the crap
outa there. what a drag!
good luck!

I've got it stripped down to the bare block right now. I was
going to get the block hot tanked then bead blasted while I've
got it apart. I figure that'll take care of any remaining
rag crap.

Oh and a quick parts id question -- my pistons look nothing like
the stuff in the manual. it's got venolia 343 stamped inside.
Are these stock? anyone got info on 'em? Also, is there any
way to tell if this is a stock ambo crank or not?

ambo?? oil filter??????? HUH?

inside the sump theres a cylindrical metal mesh/screen
around the oil pump input. Supposed to clean it every
once in a while. The one on my ambo was about 25% there,
with a shop rag wrapped around it for filtering
purposes.
