Jack,

Be sure that your grounds are all good.

============================================================

I'm stumped, so decided to sit here with a good designer beer
(Stone Pale Ale
from San Diego area) and see if the list can help me.

I just reassembled the Ambassador after having the engine out for
a clutch
job. Bike was running fine prior to this. After reassembly, it
won't start.
Checking showed spark to only one cylinder. So .... off came
the seat and
tank for access to the electrics. Results show spark to only one side of
distributor cap. Switch leads and plugs with spark still to only
that side
of distributor, thus verifying the spark plugs and the wires.
Now it gets
interesting. I remove the distributor cap and rotor from the
Eldorado (it
runs fine, thank you) - and install on Ambassador .... with the
same damned
result!!! Still no fire to one side of the distributor cap. I
reset point
gap, swore at the damn thing, and now I'm out of ideas. What
could do this?
The distributor was not out of the engine, so there's no issue
with it being
out of time.

Come on gang - give me some ideas. Me? I'm heading for the hot tub to
really focus on the problem. Worst case is to ride the LeMans
for a while.

TIA.
