Yup I though about that too, Hook a horn up to a motion detector light, run
a switch back into the house to turn it on/off, I opted for the easy out
though, Ordered a motion alarm from Harbor Frieght/ with a remote on/off.
Can't lose for 20.00. Between that and the flood lights/motion detector,
doors barred and pad locked and an alarm on the bike( which ain't a bad idea
anyways considering where I find myself sometimes) I feel a little more at
ease.
I like the house of horrors idea, someone did break in I probably couldn't
get to the shotgun fast enough due to laughing.

Easily done. get a noisemaker (horn, siren, etc.) from a junk shop/junk
yard/home depot/auto parts shop. wire it up to make noise. then make an
easy
trip switch.

It's easer than that.

Get your bell(120v) and wire it to the load side of the motion detector.
If somebody mmoves inside, the bell rings for as long as the timer on
the motion detector is set for. All you need to have is a remote
location to turn on/off the juice to the detector when entering/leaving
the home/garage.

A motion detector with two flood lights is what you want. Just wire in
the bell instead of the second light...or all three together. whatever
floats your boat...
