Keith,

What viscosity did you have previously? Brown eh? Maybe your bike is just in
need of a good enima :-) Seriously.....depending on where it sat through the
winter it definately could have been infiltrated with moisture. That should
have all been burnt off after the first good ride though.

I wonder if the moisture in there would create pressure (as it turned to
steam). Does your breather work? Will be interesting to hear how everything
is after you run the bike for a while.

OK...I'm a bit punchy this morning. After a long week of work I am looking
forward to relaxing this weekend. Part of that includes thinking about my
ride to the Open House next weekend. By this time next Sat I will be over
half way to Angiers. YeeeeHaaaa!

As for your petcocks. Get them working...buy new ones whatever. I fought
with those dam things for a long time but now everything works and I shut
off everytime I stop the bike. I just don't trust the ol' Del'Ortos to hold
the fuel. If it starts leaking it will run out your air filter or into the
cylinder. If it gets into the cylinder and you try and start your bike I
have heard that you can damage the engine if you try and start the bike.

Keep us up to date...Ian

Hey Ian,

Shut off the petcocks? Can you do that? Mine either leak or don't flow
at all, so now that they are on and not leaking, I ain't tuchin nuthin!

Oh yeah, I forgot to change that old radiator fluid - if I could only
find the radiator now..................

Fixed the horn, was just a wire that disconnected inside the headlight
shell-good as new.

Oil was muddy like coming out, perhaps it was just age that crapped it
up plus moisture, who knows, will fill her back up and keep a check,
perhaps the new 20W50 oil will leak less since it is a bunch thicker
than the mud that came out.
