Hey Congratulations Keith,
It's always a blast to take that first ride. It never gets old for me.
The sensor you see leaking is your neutral switch. It is a perennial
Guzzi weak link. The gasket probably needs to be replaced. A little bit
of sealer probably wouldn't hurt here either. Be careful when you
re-install it it might take a little tweaking to get it adjusted back to
its old lyin' self.
I agree with Ian, it sounds like you might have some fuel contamination
in your oil. Replace your petcocks, I just bought a pair from MG Cycle. I
guess your needle valves might be leaking too, but I never trust 'em. You
need to be able to close your petcocks.
