Hmmm, I had exactly the same experience. I cleaned the piece up with
brake cleaner and used two part epoxy. After a ten mile ride the other
side of the same piece failed (chuckle). I gave it the same treatment
and so far no problem. I have two more new ones on the same dash but
they are hanging in.
