If I understand correctly, Anything after mid year was titled as the next.
Mine also has the manufacture date of 70 (Dec. 1970) but is titled as a 71.
Mine has the dual instrument. I don't think they went to the dual instrument
until late in the year. So I could see you having the correct instrument
dash. The shifter I'm not sure about. Maybe it was swapped as some don't
like the rocker shift.

Who's to say what bike came off the line with what, the things have been
around a while and who knows what might of been switched through the years.

Thanks guys, it's good to know I got a decent deal. When I stopped to look
at the bike the guy wanted $1000 for it. I had no idea what it was worth,
and really couldn't spend more than $400 for what was really an impulse buy.
I really didn't think he'd accept less than half his asking price, but he
did.

I'm trying to determine if my bike is a '70 or a '71. It is titled as a '71
but the reference material I have found so far says a '71 should have a
speedo/tach and a heal/toe shifter. My bike has only a speedometer and does
not have a heel/toe shifter. The build date on the frame is July 1970. Is it
a '71 or actually a '70 titled as a '71?

Thanks,
