I thought this was just a gravity feed? If you have inline filters, take
the hose from the petcock to the inline filter or off of the banjos, point
if at a coffee can or some other high tech device, and turn the petcock on.
Fuel should flow freely, if not, rust in tank or something blocking the
inlet to the petcock.

Otherwise it must be at the carbs. Banjos clean? etc. Can you blow through
them?

Subject: Fuel Petcock Problem
Date: Wed, 5 Jun 2002 12:10:25 +0000

Good Morning All,

I replaced both of my fuel petcocks the other night, and last eve filled
up the tank. Turned on the petcocks and nada, no fuel flowing (I have
clear fuel lines so I can see the flow). Tapped each one, nada. Opened
the gas tank, still no flow. I then loosened the clamp holding the fuel
line to the petcock and heard air release, then the fuel was leaking out
of the line by the clamp, so I had to tighten her up again. Did the
same to the other side, but at that point, the fuel had filled up in
that line from the other side, so I couldn't tell if she was flowing.
Patience is burried in the garage behind some basement finishing
materials, and rain is in the forecast for the next few days. I tried
to burn up some fuel at idle to see if fuel is flowing OK, but she just
doesn't eat up the fuel at idle, will have to take her for a ride and
carry a screw driver. Has anybody else experienced this problem or can
you let me know what the problem is? Apparantly I must have had a
vacuum problem initially, but I'm not sure if it is cured. Why would
this vacuum effect exists? Perhaps this was why my right petcock was
not flowing before I changed it out.
Greatly appreciate any help/advice.

Have a Great Day!
