I've heard that crock pots are the way to go. Put in your favorite
cleaner (Simple Green, Super Clean, etc.), insert parts and turn it on.
The heat and the cleaners do a good job on really dirty parts. I need
to pick a crock pot up at a yard sale...

PS for those who are not in the know, a 'crock pot' is a large,
electrically heated pot used to make stews, etc. It operates at low
temperature and I believe, even has a thermostat. They were all the
rage for about 2 years and then have fallen by the culinary wayside.
You can usually pick one up at a yard (jumble) sale for around $5-$10US.

On the VJMC list they talk about Yamaha carb cleaner. Supposedly you mix it
with water and simmer it on a burner for a short time. I have never tried
it, but those guys swear it will clean any crud in any carb. They say it is
available at the Yamaha dealerships some in stock others special order.
